MEET THE PRINCIPALS
Chris Garick, PE
Principal/Electrical Engineer
Chris Garick is a founding principal and electrical and telecommunications engineer at HG Engineers. He has nearly 30 years of consulting engineering experience in lighting, power, telecommunications and signaling systems. Garick’s design experience includes campus lighting design, campus electric utility distribution design, building interior and exterior power, lighting and fire alarm systems design. Construction design experience includes new and renovated schools, multifamily housing, office buildings, high rises, industrial and healthcare facilities. Notable projects include Tactical Microgrid Standard Open Architecture Design, Shelter Power Metering & Data Recording Kit, Tactical Microgrids, and Deployable Metering and Monitoring Systems, USAG Hawaii Metering, and Nationwide ARNG Metering.
Garick received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Mississippi State University. He is licensed to work in Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Mississippi and Texas.
Dan White, PE
Principal/Electrical Engineer
Dan White is a principal and electrical and energy design engineer at HG Engineers. He has 14 years of consulting engineering experience in lighting, power and fire alarm systems. White’s experience includes power distribution, lighting, grounding, grid-tie photovoltaic power design, LEED design, telecommunications, power metering and fire alarm system design. His construction design experience includes military, new and renovated schools, multi-family housing, airport terminals, churches, and commercial buildings. Notable projects include Dune Lakes Elementary School, Marianna K-8 School, PSC BAARS Technology Building, NWFSC Building 400 Student Services, Santa Rosa County Courthouse, NAS Whiting Field Helicopter Maintenance Hangar, USAG Germany Metering, and USAG Japan Metering.
White received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Auburn University. He is licensed to work in Alabama, Florida and North Carolina.
Thomas Alexander, PE
Principal/Electrical Engineer
Thomas Alexander is a principal and electrical and energy design engineer at HG Engineers. He has 14 years of consulting engineering experience, and leads HG’s utility medium voltage power and relaying design services. Alexander’s experience includes power system modeling and analysis, as well as testing and commissioning of power systems involving microprocessor-based relaying. Additionally, he has field experience with site investigations, SEL relay programming and fiber-arc detection systems, SCADA integration, performance verification testing and commissioning. TYAD Arc Flash Hazard Analysis Program, TYAD Electrical Maintenance Program, TYAD New Electrical Substation 26, and TAMC Substation Switchgear Replacement
Thomas received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Florida State University. He is licensed to work in Florida and Pennsylvania.
Caleb Leonard, PE
Principal/Electrical Engineer
Caleb Leonard is a principal and electrical engineer at HG Engineers. He graduated from the University of West Florida in 2017, with his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. While in college, he interned with a power distribution company for two years and gained a lot of experience in the field of overhead and underground distribution systems.
Here at HG Engineers, Caleb focuses on electrical/power design, lighting design, fire alarm design, lighting controls, and intercom design for architectural new construction and renovation projects. He is also a project manager and manages multiple projects at a time, including the designers and drafters for each. Caleb also writes job specifications for his projects. He is extremely proficient in AutoCAD, REVIT, AGI 32, SKM, Easy Power and Excel, working with these programs on a daily basis.
